September 21, 2018, at 17:00, in the Scaligero Castle in the historic town of Sirmione, saw the presentation of two new guides to Sirmione’s museum sites: the Grotte di Catullo and the Castello Scaligero.

The press conference was conducted by Elisabetta Roffia, Nicoletta Giordani and Stefano L’Occaso.

The Scaligero Castle now has a new tool to enhance visitor experience: the guide “Il Castello Scaligero di Sirmione“, created by Stefano L’Occaso. Available in Italian, English and German and on sale at the museum and also online, it answers an important need for study and exploration.

However, what makes the new guide innovative is the new reading of the monument it proposes, updated through a series of new studies and restorations and an illustrative apparatus created for the occasion.

Guide to the visit of the Roman villa and the museum“, curated by Elisabetta Roffia, is an updated reprint (April 2018) of the previous edition of the Grotte di Catullo guide of 2005. Among its significant novelties, a new chapter by Barbara Bianchi on the pictorial fragments found, as well as interesting new photographs taken during the recent photographic project commissioned by the Polo Museale of Lombardy.
